I am not sure if this would qualify as procrastination, but I am pretty sure it does. My teaching license expires at the end of June. I have to take 6 credits and get graded, before then. So, last week I finally ordered my video courses, so that I could get those credits in. I am halfway through my first class, after a week, which I am thinking is pretty good. (Course, not subbing at all this week has helped me to push through them)
The classes I am taking have to do with choice theory and the 5 basic needs that all students have. It shows how to incorporate those needs into teaching lessons and your classroom to help prevent behavior problems. Now i only wish I had a classroom to try some of these activities. It is giving me great ideas in case I get a classroom next year.
I will switch to that thought, a classroom for next year. No, don't get excited, I don't have a classroom for next year yet, but things are looking promising. I know this whole collective bargaining thing with Walker is causing a lot of teachers to seek early retirement, therefore creating openings if the budget allows. Well, I have my application in to 2 districts already and I just found 2 more postings yesterday that I have to send my stuff into yet. I am sure there will be many more postings to come, I only hope that I have something that all the other teacher candidates don't have :)
